Entry Requirements

Entrance Requirements Applications are considered in order of receipt. Priority is given to children with a good level of English, with brothers or sisters already studying at British School of Alicante and to children of ex British School of Alicante pupils.

Nursery In September of the year that children are three, they join a Nursery Class.  An appointment will then be made for parents to visit the school and for their child to see the School Psychologist. Provided the evaluation with the psychologist is satisfactory, a place will be offered.

Reception In September of the year that children are four, they join a Reception Class. I An appointment will then be made for parents to visit the school and for their child to see the School Psychologist. Provided the evaluation with the psychologist is satisfactory, a place will be offered. Children applying for Nursery and Reception places are not required to have any prior knowledge of English but preference will always be given to those who do.

Year 1 Pupils applying for places in Year 1 should have some knowledge of English. An appointment will be made for parents to visit the school and for their child to see the School Psychologist. Provided the school reports and the evaluation with the psychologist are satisfactory, a place will be offered.

Year 2 Pupils applying for places in Year 2 must have prior knowledge of English. At this age they will be expected to know how to read and write. An appointment will be made for parents to visit the school and for their child to see the School Psychologist. Provided the school reports and the evaluation with the psychologist are satisfactory, a place will be offered. Year 3 Onward Pupils will be required to have an interview with Senior Staff and to set basoic entrance level tests.
